I really like the default emails Subbly sends out but I'd like to be able to create my own too.
Use cases explained here (sending out a separate email for separate products or sending out an email X number of days after certain event) are now possible as the part of our AUTOMATIONS feature. It's a paid add on but a pretty powerful one and will make it possible for you to set these automations very easy. We also offer 30 days of free trial for this so please feel free to request enabling this from inside your Subbly admin!

If a customer buys a certain product I want them to download a welcome file- but not EVERY customer
Right now, a welcome file would go to EVERY SINGLE CUSTOMER I EVER HAVE. I need to say the Welcome file for Product 2 is PDF 2. The Welcome file for Product 3 is PDF 3. etc.

Hey @Ilysa Ginsburg, can you please provide a use case for this one? I'm struggling a bit to understand.. Let's say that 2 customers subscribe to the same subscription product on your store - do you want to be able to send a different email to each one of them? Am I understanding this correctly?
@Andrija Krstic: my use example would be for someone buying a subscription as a gift. They could download a gift card to give the recipient.
@Tonya Martin-Dunlap: This is already a separate request and it's called ''Gift Vouchers''. But I'm not sure that this is what Ilysa meant so I was just checking ;)

Hey there @Anja Porter, thanks for submitting this request! Can you please explain in a little more detail what you're aiming at exactly here?
We do offer about 10 different email notifications that are completely customizable on your end. That said, you can edit the contents of an emails and use the Twig variables provided on the right hand side of the EMAILS section of your admin to address certain variables to be included in the body of an email.
Do you need to add more triggers to when emails are fired? If so, which one?
@Andrija Krstic: Hi! you're right that there is loads of variables we can put into the emails, however, for example, I'd like to send my customers a reminder email which is not currently a template already. It would be great if we could create our own emails and add our own triggers (e.g. send to all Active Customers on 20th of any month). Hope this makes sense and you can see how I think that is different to the current functionality.
@Anja Porter: Yes, this makes sense, however it's impossible to code and cover all cases customer can come up with :) For this purposes, we do have integration with other email marketing services (like Mailchimp for example) so you're perfectly able to connect Subbly with Mailchimp, and manage your custom campaigns from Mailchimp :) And it's free as well.
But yeah, we will consider adding this capability on Subbly in the future.
@Andrija Krstic: To be fair, the integration with MailChimp wasn't available yet when this ticket was raised ;) happy with all the comments/options on here though so happy that this is no longer required
It would be more effective to use a comprehensive email marketing platform using our Zapier integration
