A countdown timer widget that can be added to the homepage or footer with a countdown to a set date (e.g. 20th of each month) so customers can be aware of the next shipment / delivery.
This is now complete as we've added countdown times as an integral part/element on our new website builder.
I would love this feature for my site please!
@Luke Mcallister: Just as a heads up, if you're using one of Subbly themes this can be integrated by our dev team on demand. Make sure to submit a theme request as this is not really a feature request per se :/
@Stefan Pretty Just wanted to check in on this as powr.io isn't working as intended. If I understand correctly from last comment @Andrija Krstic is saying that this can by integrated by you guys now?
@Alex Redden: Hey Alex, this can be integrated by our development team, they can code it in for you. You can request individual theme changes by submitting a theme request thru the admin.
Just submitted a theme request using one of my credits for this, but do think this should be a feature as a lot of subscription box sites have this.
As well as being informative, it helps give customers the urge to order as they see it as if they are running out of time.
I'd suggest submitting a theme request using one of your credits and one of our team will maybe be able to help you with this.
@Alex Redden If I understand correctly, this practically mean that this timer will be unique to each customer, as delivery dates might vary depending on the date when they signed up for your product in the first place?
@Andrija Krstic: It sounds more like this would be based on a global shipping date that happens each month.
-a customer lands on site on August 12th.
-the next subscription item has a mailed on date of August 28th.
-the countdown timer will say "Order within 8 days to receive our September Box."
-the customer is then enticed to purchase within 8 days.
The timer will be based on the shipping cutoff date most likely so there's enough time to order extra products to fulfil that customer's order.
@Andrija Krstic: So, it will be based on each subscription product rather than each customer.
@Markus Heinrich: Yes, this makes sense and that's the way I understood it in the first place, just wanted to double check with Alex regarding this.
However, not all merchants have cut-off dates for their product listings on Subbly. Ie., some of them dispatch their products as soon as someone is subscribed to them and they renew at the same time each month. So basically there will be different countdown timers relating to the same product or even the same customer (if he maybe subscribed to 2 products). This complicates things a bit..
Maybe we can make countdown timer optionable on the backend. We will look into it.
@Andrija Krstic: Hi Andrija, we're looking for a countdown timer that automatically resets on the 28th of each month (or any defined date) so that we have a delivery cut off time for orders every cycle/ run. To clarify, our plan is to have an order cut off on the 28th of each month to ship on the 1st of the following month. This means new subscribers know that for orders to be shipped on the 1st, they must sign up before midnight of the 28th and then it restarts again for the next month/ cycle. So like what @Markus Heinrich is saying, it is effectively a single subscription shipping cut off date versus an individual customer/ product cut off date (which would also be a good feature for those who operate that way but as you say, more complicated). We're looking at https://www.powr.io/plugins/countdown-timer/standalone?id=11954003& as an option in the meantime but it's a great feature to create a sense of urgency.
Sorry wrong link https://www.powr.io/install/countdown-timer/html
I think it would work best on the top of the site above the navbar header and/ or slotted in to any section on the home page
Great idea, the anticipation can really promote sales
